Day 8 & 9 Rediscovering Minds 2015




VISUAL ARTS


GUITAR PAINTING

Visual Arts is a lot fun with creativity so these are the experiences of few students......

I love doing this activity and I love to design it and I love to make my favorite things. We have our own perspective to draw. I love to do it and I want to make lots and lots and lots of guitar. I love it pra pa pa pa paa.

I like this activity because its really fun painting with watercolours and drawing the things you love. Arushi Lakhanpal-




I loved doing the guitar panting because we had to use are imagination and draw anything we liked. At the same time it was also boring because I had already done it with sir once.

ICT



The students have started gearing up and preparing for their presentation on the showcase day.

The older group summed up their learning during these days by writing reflections on the various apps they were introduced to. They used Popplet to write their reflections.
The Group II has also completed their one-minute advertisements using GoAnimate.

INDOOR SPORTS



Many of the students have now started swimming independently in the deep pool but still have to practice to gain confidence. Few of them can be seen in the pictures doing skipping.....


DRAMA


In Drama the groups have started rehearsing on the stage for performing in front of the parents as audience. They are putting their full effort to perform well on the stage.


MUSIC



In Music group I has aquired Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the Metlophone.
And Group II has aquired Chords E Major and A Minor on Guitar.

Day 6 & 7 - Rediscovering Minds

DRAMA

Group 1 played fun games focusing on body control, reflexes and concentration. The kids explored ‘shadow play’ through a story by Sowmya Rajendran-“Power cut”. Children enjoyed exploring different shapes of their hands and bodies that made interesting shadows of animals, etc.




Group II explored ‘feelings & emotions’, through various activities, theatre tasks and questioning. The children were shown a picture and were asked questions based on the picture. For eg.: How do you think the characters in the story are feling?, etc. Issues of ‘bullying’ and peer pressure were addressed and the children empathized with the characters, and learnt a great deal about ‘how to make others feel!’ They categorized various emotions into: ‘feeling good words’ & ‘words that can make other’s feel sad’. With the help of the story- The Island, the children were sensitized towards being kind & generous towards other’s. After this, they improvised another scene from the story.


ICT

It was a Hair Styling Day for Kids
The younger group became hair stylists today. They worked on the ‘Toca Hair Salon 2’ app to create the wackiest of hairstyles by colouring, curling, straitening, cutting and shaving the hair of their customers.

 It for sure the customers won’t be as happy to have got their new hairstyles! J

Group II continued working on their one-minute advertisements using GoAnimate. They are carefully adding scenes and dialogues to make it an authentic advertisement for a particular item.



MUSIC



In Music students are now practicing foe the Shocase Day. They practiced Drums with Guitar accompaniment, learnt scales and chords on Guitar and did group practice on percussion instruments.

VISUAL ART

Recycling paper

We all know that recycling paper is one way of reducing our ecological footprint by lowering the total amount of wastes. However, many people do not know that how paper is actually recycled, or even how much of the items they put out in recycling bins actually gets recycled. The students were explain how easy it is to make paper using a very simple process that utilizes tools readily available in the market or even at home. It's fun, straight-forward and you help protect the environment by recycling your own paper.



SPORTS



In sports kids are having Fun Fun Fun and just Fun.They blow out all he energy they have restored in themselves. They made a star formation by cheching out their bouyancy level in side H2O. They balanced themselves on the water as well as on the air filled Swiss Ball. Juniors also does wall practice for Tennis basics.

Day 4 and 5 - Rediscovering Minds


VISUAL ARTS


 In Visual Arts students are introduced to Recycle Art and Paper Craft. They are having great time in cutting the paper in pieces and rolling the papers. And at the same time teens are experiencing creations with old plastics.

Students had a fun time to day with 3D recycle art.  Students apply different colors 3D recycle material   and hot glue gun, their emotional attachment on top up the surface and also we learn how to cut & paste neatly.  











DANCE

In dance the Group I is doing the Creative Moves and preparing themselves for the Showcase Day.



In group II the students are doing Jazz Level I and Ballet Level I and they also saw videos on Ballet so that get a more clear idea of the movements. 



DRAMA



In Drama the Group I played theatre games to develop their gross motor skills. They explored the Emotion- "fear" and how to confront and deal with it through a story- "princess and the panther". They also dramatised the story. Students took up various roles and then switched their roles too.



In Group II it was a brainstroming and story discussing session- "the island". They improvised and dramatised the beginning of the story. 


ICT

The Group I had a painting day today where they coloured pictures of their choice. This activity improves the finger coordination on a touch device.
 

The Group II recapped on an app which was introduced to them on Day 1 – Shadow Puppet Edu.
They are in the process of retelling either a known story or a new story of their own, where they have drawn illustrations using the Paint Sparkle or the Kids Doodle app. They have completed audio stories for which the links are:

Group I in Music explored the Metlophone and Group II finished the song "My Rhythm" on the Drums.



SPORTS

So our students are practicing sports skills until they are tired to become perfect in the sports of their choice. But they do get fun time for last 10 minutes to splash in the water or just lying in the tube on the water. Some of them love to play Badminton matches of 11 points and they even show a keen interest in Squash which is a real Strength Endurance sport for the body and makes them tired soon.

Day 3 Rediscovering Minds

DANCE

In dance students are at level I of JAZZ Dancing. By now they know Isolation and types of Isolation that is neck, shoulders, arms, chest, hips, knees and foot. Kids are enjoying Jazz and taking keen interest in new moves.





VISUAL ARTS

Students are experiencing what is optical illusion art and then express it  in drawing choosing warm ,cool & complimentary colors on cuboid box. They are following famous op art artist Victor Vasarely art.

DRAMA




In Drama students played a Theatre Game - "Grandma's Footsteps", which hepls in body control and reflexes. They also explored a story from the "Frog and the Toad Series". The all enjoyed narrating and acting out the story.

ICT



The Group I designed the interiors of a room using the Design New House app. Since there were many pets available, most of them filled up their houses with loads of animals!
Once done with their rooms, they were made to record their voices where they talked about their rooms. The recording was done using the Shadow Puppet Edu app.

The Group II made non-living objects talk today using the Chatter Kid app. Each one of them chose two objects and made them talk to each other to create a 1-2 minute digital story.

MUSIC



Both the groups are having real fun in Music Classes filled with different melodies. They sing their favorite songs and rhymes. Group I acquired Good Morning song and beats on Bongo. Whereas Group II acquired Drums Notation and did 4/4 beat song on Drum Kit using Drum Notation.


SPORTS

Sports Area is a place where each student enjoys upto full extent. And its even true for our lil ones and young ones. Students are having loads of fun in Sports Block.Most of them choose to splash in the water and few of them love to sweat out their calories on badminton or squash courts.

Day 2 Rediscovering Minds

VISUAL ARTS

ICT


The group I created their funny pictures using the Facetouch app. They clicked their selfies and used the various objects in the app to make their pictures look funny.

 The group II were introduced to a very simple comic strip creation app called Make Beliefs Comix. They all created comic strips depicting a funny story.




MUSIC




Group1 has learnt an action song called ‘Two Thumbs Up Two Thumbs Down’, they also learnt simple beat on the Bongo.

Group 2 has started learning Guitar, they have learnt simple chords – Eminor, G Major and C Major.



 DANCE

In dance both the group started with specific warm up before moving on to the Jazz. 


SPORTS

"Water is our second home"

The students warmed up by using hurdles, ladder and soccer ball. They have actively playedbadminton, table tennis, and mini tennis.
 In swimming the students practiced floating and kicking skills, they also did the submerging by opening eyes in the water. The elder group did the same in the deep pool and they also corrected front crawl arm action through various drills.
